Christmas in Bristol is already set to be the biggest and brightest yet, with the announcement of The Bristol Hippodrome’s production of Peter Pan starring David Hasselhoff. The city also welcomes an array of other festive Christmas delights for groups, along with added coach parking to provide ease of parking for coach groups.
Hook The Hoff!
First Family Entertainment and The Bristol Hippodrome recently announced the biggest pantomime cast to date starring the global mega-star David Hasselhoff who will be playing Captain Hook in Peter Pan from 10 December until 8 January.
David Hasselhoff said: "I am so delighted to be returning to the role of Captain Hook, I had a blast last year in Wimbledon. I’ve been spending a great deal of time in the UK, it feels like my second home and I can’t wait to spend Christmas with the people of Bristol. Watch out – Hoff the Hook is coming to get ya!”
Santa's Grotto
The Bristol Hippodrome isn’t the only organisation with a pirate themed Christmas spectacular. The Galleries in Bristol’s main city centre shopping area will have a Peter Pan-themed Santa’s Grotto to complement the Hippodrome production.
The Galleries is an attractive, three-storey shopping centre, which is home to Boots, WH Smith, TK Maxx and over 100 other stores.
Cabot Circus- Shopping, skating rink and lights galore
Cabot Circus is also located in the city centre shopping area and provides Bristol’s visitors with over 120 shops including 15 major flagship stores and signature stores like Harvey Nichols and House of Fraser.
The great line up also includes Zara, All Saints, Fat Face, Cult Clothing, Topshop and many more. There are over 25 places to eat offering plenty of options for weary Christmas shoppers to rest their feet and enjoy a quick latte or a tasty lunch for groups.
In Cabot Circus this Christmas there will be a skating rink, along with new Christmas lights.Bristol’s overall city centre shopping offer, comprising nearly 500 stores, provides a unique Christmas shopping experience with a huge variety of well-known brands and independents, with something for every shopper including Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, Bhs, and the UK’s second largest Primark. Christmas markets will provide festive sparkle for groups, along with improved Christmas light displays.
Bristol Christmas Markets
Bristol’s Christmas markets will combine high quality traditional German and locally inspired markets. On offer will be crafts, gifts and deliciously festive food and drink, providing both an authentic German festive experience and a selection of the best locally sourced produce. The Christmas Markets will run from 10th November until 22nd December.
Also, a short walk from the Christmas Markets is one of Bristol’s best kept secrets, St Nicholas Market, on Corn Street. Home to the largest collection of independent retailers in Bristol, this is a treasure trove for shoppers and a great place in which to find something different for that special Christmas gift.

Christmas Lights
Bristol’s Christmas tree will be located near to the city centre shopping area at the cascade steps on The Centre Promenade. The main Bristol switch on will be early in November and will include Cabot Circus and The Galleries. (The lights switch-on date will be announced soon.)
Other Christmas lights will be located along the route from the city centre shopping area through to The Bristol Hippodrome, including St Nicholas Market, The Centre Promenade, College Green, and Park Street.
John Hirst added, “This year we will have more Christmas lights than ever before throughout Bristol. We are pleased to have additional lights in 2011 linking Cabot Circus in the east to the top of Park Street in the west”.
Christmas Coach Parking
Free coach parking is available during December in Bristol’s city centre shopping area; full details will be available in the near future.
Groups can also enjoy Bristol’s wide range of attractions this Christmas, including Bristol’s new £26 million history museum, M Shed.
