The Carpenter's Arms is the perfect revitalising retreat. Converted from a cluster of charming miners' cottages, this traditional inn is an ideal touring centre for exploring the area. It's tucked away in the picturesque hamlet of Stanton Wick, nestling right in the heart of the idyllic Chew Valley, yet ideally located within easy driving distance of both Bristol and Bath.

En suite accommodation is available at the inn with 12 gorgeous bedrooms. These all have a stunning contemporary style and have enviable facilities as standard, including flat screen Freeview television, broadband Wi-Fi and king size beds with duck down pillows and duvets.

There’s a lot to explore in the surrounding, unspoilt area around The Carpenter’s Arms. The tranquil valley is crisscrossed by public footpaths and the idyllic Chew Valley Lake is close by. Bristol and Bath are easily reached by car and both have shopping centres, theatres and historic places of interest for those seeking fashionable, urban stimulation, alongside the joys of taking it easy at this memorable rural retreat.

There is a traditional bar at The Carpenter’s Arms, with a wide choice of tipples, real ales and a diverse wine list. On colder days, the cosy log fire will warm you up a treat, and if the weather is balmy, the landscaped patio is the ultimate spot for either a leisurely drink or some al fresco dining.

The Carpenter's Arms boasts two dining areas, serving a tempting menu of irresistible starters, mains and puddings. The chef's menu is changed regularly to ensure the best local produce is only used in season. You might fancy fillet of haddock in Doom Bar batter, with chunky chips and pea puree, or their popular Thai chicken curry with coriander rice to name just a couple. There are always imaginative vegetarian dishes available and special diets can easily be catered for with prior notice. There's also a light lunch menu, daily specials selection and an impressive children's menu, so there’s something to suit every palate!

Sunday lunch is a celebrated tradition at The Carpenter's Arms, with a selection of succulent roasts, as well as all the other menu highlights. Food is available all day on Sundays, with roasts served until 6pm.
