Thornbury Castle

About

Built in the 16th century, with impressive Tudor architecture and features, Thornbury Castle, is a five-star deluxe Relais and Chateaux Tudor castle in the heart of Gloucestershire, on the edge of the Cotswolds. Once the honeymoon retreat of King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn Thornbury Castle now acts as an inspiring setting for meetings, and conferences, private dining, and exclusive events. Set within extensive grounds perfect for a wide variety of unique and exciting team building activities and corporate summer fun days and BBQ’S.

Located on the northern edge of Thornbury adjacent to the Gloucestershire countryside but within 30 minutes from Bristol City Centre and Bristol Parkway, and less than two hours from London, the three distinct event spaces can accommodate either 24 or 70 guests.

Dating back over 500 years, The Baron’s Sitting Room offers a more intimate retreat and includes use of the private Chancellor’s Lounge. Both spaces offer splendid views of the grounds and evoke a time when even the smallest gatherings of dynamic characters could conjure the most magnificent, trajectory changing ideas. For larger events, the singular majesty of the grand Tudor Hall ensures that everybody who passes through its entranceway can’t help but feel energised and inspired.

While each event space differs in scale, all options include a wealth of high-quality, complimentary extras, including inclusive 3 AA Rosette food and beverage packages. Guests often judge a venue by the quality of the nourishment and refreshment it provides. In keeping with the surroundings, Thornbury Castle make sure the freshly prepared and locally sourced offerings are fit for a king or queen, but flexible enough to be enjoyed by all.

Step behind the heavy oak doors and you will find a magnificent place with roaring log fires, delicious cuisine and 26 sumptuous bedchambers that have been lovingly refreshed with rich fabrics, sumptuous décor, and modern-day luxuries. A perfect retreat to escape and focus on future plans without any distractions.
