The city’s sense of unorthodoxy has always driven its creativity, and it is increasingly recognised as one of the most dynamic cultural cities in the UK.
Bristol Film Office welcomes a growing number of film and TV companies to the city, which make use of the cutting-edge facilities found at Bottle Yard Studios as well as the city’s diverse filming locations. Recent high-profile productions have included Wolf Hall, Poldark and Sherlock, all taking advantage of the variety of architecture and the friendliness of the city.
More than 20,400 people are employed directly in the creative and media sectors in the region and there is a huge diversity of talent from animation and film to post-production.
Bristol is also lucky to boast a range of truly creative and inspirational venues to add value to any event. The beautiful, historical Bristol Museum and Art Gallery and Royal West of England Academy sit comfortably alongside modern museums and dynamic art spaces like Arnolfini, Spike Island and Watershed, all of which offer exciting alternative event spaces. Alternatively, take a look at the city’s live music venues, including Colston Hall, currently celebrating its 150th birthday, and Grade II-listed concert hall St George’s Bristol.
And its not just venues – there's also plenty of original team building events. Bristol is home to multi award-winning Aardman Animations, creators of Morph, Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Gromit. They run creative awaydays where attendees can learn to make models from the experts. Banksy and Upfest, Europe’s largest street art and graffiti festival, have also ensured the city is increasingly recognised internationally for its street art. The city’s streets offer an incredible outdoor gallery with expert guided walks, plus the opportunity to create your own masterpiece in group workshops.
