Weddings at Berkeley Castle

Berkeley's Norman Castle is available for wedding receptions and offers a unique and historic venue for your special day.

The Great Hall has been used for feasting since the 12th Century and most English kings and queens have sat at the high table here.

Beautiful Reception Locations

In summer the terraced gardens - planted for scent as well as for beauty, and with views over rolling countryside - are available for reception drinks.
Guests have freedom of the gardens and photographs can be taken here.
In the winter months, the elegant Long Drawing Room fulfils the same function. The Castle is available throughout the year, subject to other events and bookings including Saturdays (except in July & August).Berkeley Castle

Everything is Taken Care Of

The hire of the Castle for a wedding reception includes the following:

- Reception - drinks on arrival will be held in the Long Drawing Room or from the top terrace overlooking the Meadow on a fine day.
- The Castle floodlit.
- Personnel for security and cloakroom duties.
- Free parking for all your guests.
- Guided tours for your guests, if required.

The maximum number which can be seated for dining in the Great Hall is 128.

Catering

The Castle has a choice of three appointed caterers plus bar services.

Guided Tours

Short guided tours of the Castle are available if desired to those guests who may be interested - we find most guests are delighted to have the opportunity to explore this ancient building. Tours must be pre-arranged with us before the day.

Please note that the Castle does not at present have a licence for civil wedding ceremonies, but is in the process of applying for one.

We can also advise on local florists, horse-drawn carriages, musicians (perhaps you might like to be piped in to dinner?).
