Destination Bristol's key strategic priorities are:
1. Drive initiatives to improve the quality of the visitor experience
Develop a 'Customer Service Ambassadors' programme through the Tourism Skills Network to promote higher levels of customer service skills
Establish an annual competition in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire programme to highlight business excellence, innovation and achievement, qualifying local businesses for entry to the England for Excellence programme
Consolidate the franchised TIC network programme and improve the quality of services provided
2. Attract more visitors by marketing the city in the UK and selected overseas markets
Work with a new focus group to develop a group travel marketing strategy
Co-ordinate the efforts of attractors to improve collaboration and joint marketing
Further develop the conference ambassadors programme focusing on the city's key economic sectors and the opportunities presented by Science City
Expand the sales programme promoting business meetings concentrating especially upon the key economic sectors and the opportunities presented by Science City
Deliver a new design framework for advertising, exhibition and print materials
Further refinement of BRS and increase partner support
Development of on-line services through VisitBristol.co.uk
3. Work proactively with others, to promote collaboration, and support the work of strategic partners
Develop and launch a new membership scheme including development of account management initiative
Establish sector-based forums through closer integration with the Bristol Hotels Association and Tourist Attractions Alliance
Explore the potential of the Destination Management System to develop a more comprehensive promotional platform for the city
Identify gaps in marketing collateral such as video, exhibition stands and print and agree how to resolve these
4. Promote sustainable tourism development
Maintain a single focus on promoting participation by tourism businesses in the Green Tourism Business Scheme
