Welcome

Managing Destination Bristol must be one of the most exciting jobs in the travel industry. The last ten years has seen Bristol transformed into one of the most attractive and vibrant cities in Europe, and our ambitions are to see future growth that will support a billion pound industry by 2010.

Bristol is already a great success story - our tourism economy is worth £3/4 billion annually and Bristol welcomes over eight million day and staying visitors each year. The city is home to award winning attractions such as Brunel's finest ship, the ss Great Britain, and his Clifton Suspension Bridge, from Bristol Zoo, one of the world's oldest and loveliest zoos, to attractions that reflect its technological heritage such as Explore-At-Bristol, to some wonderful museums and art galleries with truly outstanding collections of both local and international relevance.

Nearly all major brands are represented within our hotels and our contemporary arts and culture scene is second to none, while events and festivals unique to Bristol draw millions of visitors each year. And in 2008, we see some spectacular new developments with the launch of Cabot Circus promising one of the most exciting new UK retail centres in years, featuring names such as Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser and Raymond Blanc.

Also in 2008 we welcome three new major hotels providing nearly 600 additional bed spaces, with the promise of more exciting developments in 2009 and 2010.

Bristol is a truly wonderful city, and its tourism economy has benefited hugely from a true spirit of partnership that has enabled the sector works together to ensure we fulfill the potential that exists here.

I hope you will find this website useful and if there is anything that you can't find here please contact us and we will do our best to help you.
