Destination Bristol is a company limited by guarantee and as such has no shareholders. The company is technically a local authority-controlled company, and has two members, Bristol City Council which has three directors on the Board, and Business West, which has one.
Local Authorities, Local Government and associated organisations
As well as working closely with Bristol City Council and the Mayor’s Office, we also seek to form strong relationships with local MPs to ensure that they understand the breadth and opportunity the Visitor Economy brings, both as a major employer and an economic driver.
We work with the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to champion the opportunities tourism presents and in partnership with Invest Bristol and Bath.
Private Sector Partners
We work in partnership with BusinessWest. They are one of the most influential independent business leadership organisations in the UK, representing and working with over 18,000 businesses across the South West.
As one of the UK’s most important and successful regional airports, our relationship with Bristol Airport is critical to the success of our international business, as well as enabling easy travel solutions from the north of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. As well as supporting existing routes with trade relationships and tactical consumer marketing, we work closely to support development of new routes bringing new markets to the city region.
We are also proud to work with our 600 businesses in the Bristol region who support our work through our membership programme.
We work closely with our partners Bath Tourism Plus, often delivering international activity in partnership with them and Bristol Airport. We also work closely with other DMOs in the South West and Wales, as well as other core cities across England.
We continue to develop our strategic partnership with VisitBritain and VisitEngland to ensure that news and opportunities offered by Bristol are recognised on a national and international platform.
