Pre-theatre dining

Luckily for theatre fans, most of Bristol’s favourite theatres and concert halls are all fairly close to each other and there's a great range of places to grab a bite to eat before the show begins.

The River Grille opens at 6pm, so you have time to select from its full menu before the short walk to your seat in time for curtain up.

Next door to The River Grille you will find Shore Café Bar – so you'll be fine for a drink after the show, too!

You can also enjoy 20 per cent of the menu at Tyrells at The Grand by Thistle Hotel when you dine pre-show from 6pm Monday to Sunday.  Just show your ticket when ordering.

Goldbrick House offers a special pre-theatre menu – check out a sample here (it changes daily with fresh produce) and the folks there guarantee that guests can have three courses and be out by 7.15pm ready for the short trot to theatre-land. By prior arrangement, guests can also sit at 5.30pm if they wish, and group bookings are also welcome. Customers that show their tickets will also receive a free coffee or tea after their special two- or three-course meal!

Just across the road from the Bristol Hippodrome (and around the corner from the Old Vic), Thai Edge offers some of the best Thai food you will ever taste.   They have a pre-theatre menu that's not only very tasty but great value for money.

Las Iguanas at Harbourside is within easy walk of all the central theatres and only a short walk to Park Street for St. Georges.  Make the most of their early evening menu (available until 6.30pm) with a fantastic range of main courses from £6.90.
