Luckily for theatre fans, most of the theatres and music venues in Bristol are fairly close to each other and also to whole selection of fine restaurants and pubs to grab a bite to eat before the event begins.
Many of the restaurants also offer special pre-theatre dinner deals and special set menus when you show your theatre ticket or eat before 7pm. If you’re unsure at all then just phone ahead in advance.
If you’re visiting the Bristol Hippodrome you have the choice any number of destinations, including the Old City, Harbourside or Park Street. Here you will find anything from casual bites (Bambalan, No.1 Harbourside) to fine dining options (The Ox, The River Grille). Park Street and the Triangle are the closest to St George’s Bristol but if you’re heading to the Redgrave Theatre then you may want to consider Clifton Village for food.
Bristol Old Vic is in the heart of the Old City and close to a range of restaurants by the water's edge, including Riverstation, Mud Dock and Three Brothers Burgers. The theatre itself also boasts a fantastic restaurant Bar and Cafe at Bristol Old Vic.
