Group Travel > Eating and Drinking in a Group > Tea Stops
Sometimes, it's the simple things in life that are hard to come by, for example... "where on route can a group stop for a good cup of tea?"
Here are some suggestions for tea stops in and around Bristol:
Boston Tea Party, Park Street
Stop for a coffee and fresh cafe-style homecooked dishes and indulgent cakes at this very popular cafe.
Dockyard Cafe Bar at Brunel's ss Great Britain.
A trip to the world's first Great Ocean Liner is a must for any visitor to Bristol. Plan a tea break either before or after your visit. The light and airy cafe bar provides wonderful views of Bristol's harbourside and a special range of homemade cakes and produce to choose from... including its very own ale!
Thornbury Castle
Stop here for a traditional afternoon tea, held in the library or lounge every day between 3pm to 4.45pm. Relax in stately surroundings with a cream tea, freshly baked scones with homemade jam and clotted cream. There is an array of homemade biscuits and cakes, or choose a full tea with a selection of finger sandwiches. Located just off J16 of the M5.
Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel
Enjoy an afternoon tea in this great Victorian mansion on the edge of the Cotswolds. The Atrium is one of Tortworth Court's finest rooms, offering delicious afternoon teas.
Bridge Cafe at The Avon Gorge Hotel
Offers a pleasant cafe overlooking Brunel's masterpiece, the Clifton Suspension Bridge. This café is the perfect place to relax on an afternoon offering superb teas in a relaxed yet formal atmosphere. On a nice day, soak up the sun and enjoy the views on the spacious terrace.
Village Pottery, Clifton
On your visit to Clifton Village or on your way to the Suspension Bridge, don't miss out on The Village Pottery in Princess Victoria Street. You will find a unique open studio, gallery and coffee bar run by potter Jen Hamilton. This landmark pottery in Clifton Village is a great place to enjoy a cup of Fairtrade tea or coffee and a slice of homemade cake.
As with all group arrangements, if you are planning to bring a large number of visitors it is advisable to contact the venue prior to your arrival to make them aware of your intentions and to avoid disappointment.
