St Pauls Carnival One of Bristol's most popular events returns to the city on Saturday 5th July, with more colour, music, dance and delicious food than ever before. St Pauls Carnival celebrates all aspects of Bristol's African and Caribbean culture, bringing together communities and strengthening the bonds between the people of St Pauls and the rest of the city. Don't miss the colourful floats and processions that parade through the streets, along with live music, dance and traditional food from across the globe.
Oakham TreasuresTake a trip back through time and enjoy a day out with a real difference at Oakham Treasures - Bristol's newest visitor attraction. Thought to be one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of retail and farming history in the UK, this unique museum allows visitors to explore the ancient fully stocked stores and impressive displays of old tractors and farming equipment from days gone by. This intriguing journey through time is perfect for people of all ages and opens on Tuesday 8 July.
Cabot Circus arrivesDevelopers have announced that the much-anticipated Cabot Circus development in Bristol's city centre will be unveiled and opened to the public on Thursday 25th September 2008. The state-of-the-art shopping and leisure complex will feature huge names in retail, with 15 major stores and over 100 new shops, along with a wide choice of restaurants, cafes and bars. A 13-screen 'Cinema de Lux' will be included as well as a new car park with over 2,600 spaces for shoppers.
Summer at the ZooThroughout the summer, Bristol Zoo Gardens will host a series of exciting events for people of all ages to enjoy. From 23 - 25 July, the Zoo will proudly present John Cleese in conversation with Chris Serle at the Redgrave Theatre. Proceeds taken from each evening will help support Bristol Zoo's conservation projects around the world. On 26th July, the Zoo will remain open throughout the night for the anticipated Boogie for Brizzle event, with live entertainment, dance and activities for the whole family.
