The opening date for Bristol’s new flagship museum M Shed has been formally announced - Friday 17 June, 2011
The announcement will spearhead a series of exciting stories and media opportunities over the coming months around the new museum’s opening day preparations.
Museum staff will spend the next few months ensuring the installation of thousands of objects and artefacts runs smoothly. These objects, along with thousands of personal histories and interactive technology, will tell the story of Bristol’s past. M Shed will be a new type of museum offering an interactive environment that will actively invite visitors to add their own memories and perspectives; to say ‘This is my Bristol. This is my story.’
M Shed will be an exciting major addition to Bristol’s cultural portfolio. For the first time in its history, Bristol will have a museum which is dedicated to telling the story of its people its trading past, its modern industries, its culture and its place in the world in the 21st century.
