Only Time Will Tell is the first novel in Jeffrey Archer’s eagerly awaited gripping new family saga, The Clifton Chronicles. The book tells the epic tale of Harry Clifton, who was brought up in the backstreets of Bristol. Set against the backdrop of 1920’s Bristol, Only Time Will Tell draws the reader into the historic landscape of this city. Key landmarks such as the docks, Bristol Grammar School and the Royal Hotel feature heavily in the book, evoking a real sense of Bristol in the interwar period.
To celebrate the launch of this historical novel, Pan Macmillan and Jeffrey Archer will host a book launch event at the Palm Court Restaurant at the Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel where Maisie Clifton, Harry’s mother, worked as a waitress in the book. In this beautiful setting, guests will be joined by Jeffrey Archer at 2:30pm for a reading and talk on how historical Bristol influenced Only Time Will Tell.
Members of the public can reserve a place at the Palm Court event for free by emailing maisieclifton@macmillan.co.uk with the subject header ‘Palm Court’.
