Cabot Tower

Cabot Tower Bristol

A 105 feet high tower built in 1897 to commemorate John Cabot's voyage from Bristol and the sighting of North America four hundred years earlier. It was designed by the Bristol architect William Venn Gough and paid for by public subscription. The tower is built from red sandstone covered with cream Bath stone.

It's well worth climbing the spiral staircase inside the tower to enjoy the panoramic views of the city and harbour.

The Tower is free to enter and situated in Brandon Hill park, just off Park Street. It's open daily from 08.00 - dusk (16.00 winter and 19.00 summer). Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
