The award-winning City Café overlooks the magnificent Temple Gardens, creating an alfresco destination restaurant in the heart of Bristol.
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, City Café Bristol is the purveyor of fantastic food, with is imaginative menus using the finest ingredients sourced from around the UK.
City Café’s dishes are based on a mix of modern British and European themes, and the three menus reflect seasonal changes and the availability of the freshest ingredients. The classic à la carte list includes signature mains like cinnamon roasted duck breast, celeriac and apple `anna` and marsala jus; or pork loin with haricot beans, pancetta and pears, white wine and garlic cream sauce. To finish try any of the decadent puddings including the white chocolate and bacardi truffle, poached pears and sable biscuit with balsamic syrup; or the chocolate kougloff with orange compote and cardamom ice cream.
Equally popular is the Kitchen Menu, a twice-weekly changing offering that allows the chef to showcase creative and new dishes – fantastic value from £9.95 for two courses. City Café’s lazy Sunday lunch is a must try, offering one of the city's most creative three-course buffet options for only £15.95. Lighter dishes can be selected from the bar and terrace menu, which also features tasty sharing plates and salads. Each menu is complemented by City Café’s extensive and unique wine list.
Designed to offer something to suit everyone, whether eating or just enjoying by the glass with friends, City Café has created a wine list that won’t disappoint. A focus on quality and value has led to the sourcing of wines from small, independent producers which complements City Café’s innovative ingredients, menus and philosophy.
During warmer months diners spill out onto the stunning terrace (where both the bar and restaurant menus are available) above Temple Gardens. Terrace heaters take the chill from the air for balmy evenings under the stars and offers enjoyable alfresco dining accompanied by a glass of chilled wine or the perfect location for a morning coffee and people watching, catching up with friends over afternoon tea or just soaking up the tranquility and sunshine.
If you want to celebrate away from the crowd, private dining rooms, where the head chef offers specially created menus, are available. Innovative menus in stylish spaces – City Café is a matter of taste.
