Calendar of events
To celebrate the Floating Harbour's 200th anniversary, a packed schedule of events, exhibitions, shows, talks and competitions will run throughout 2009.

| Selected dates from 22 May - 17 July | Down the Docks and Up the Cut ferry trips | The Ferry Station, Narrow Quay | Uniquely entertaining boat trips with specialist commentary showcasing the amazing engineering feats that helped to create Bristol's Floating Harbour. Find out more. |
| 19 July | Ship's Birthday! | Brunel's ss Great Britain | Dress in your vintage best for bubbly, entertainment and cake aboard the majestic ship. BYO picnic plus free return visits. Event takes places from 6.30pm to 10pm. Tickets are £20 or £10 (child). Find out more. |
| From July | Exhibition and Waymarked Trail | Floating Harbour | Outdoor exhibition of historic and contemporary images of significant locations around the Floating Harbour, illustrating the past and present of this fascinating area. | 31 July - 2 August | Bristol Harbour Festival | Harbourside and Amphitheatre | Located in the heart of Bristol’s cultural district, the festival’s broad programme of entertainment features a wide range of music, circus and spectacular dance. Other attractions include visiting tall ships and boats, on-water displays, children's entertainment, food markets and a spectacular fireworks display. Find out more. |
| 12 - 13 September | Harbour Works | Various harbourside venues | Local actors, storytellers and practitioners of traditional industries, such as blacksmithing and boatbuilding, animate different aspects of the Harbour's working life, featuring live, activity-based interpretation as part of Bristol's Doors Open Day. |
| From September | Exhibition and Heritage Trail | Floating Harbour | To create a long term legacy following on from the Where Do You Think You Are? exhibition, a heritage trail leaflet will be placed at positions of interest around the Floating Harbour, as well as at the city's museums and libraries. |
