Hole in the Wall

Hole in The Wall Restuarant Bristol

Constructed in the 1700s, the pub gets its name from the 18th Century when the practice of ‘press ganging’ (forcing young men to join the Navy) was common. There are numerous stories of victims being hit over the head and waking up on board a ship. The hole in the wall refers to a spy hole that some pubs, such as this has, which customers could use to keep an eye out for advancing press gangs.

Guests will be able to browse a new menu which includes a wide variety of freshly prepared classic pub dishes such as Slow Cooked Shoulder of Lamb, daily fresh fish dishes and Homemade Pie of the Day. There is also a separate lunch menu offering freshly made sandwiches and salads, perfect if you’re just nipping in for a quick bite.

Look out for the blackboard showing today’s specials, and the thoughtfully selected range of delicious vegetarian options.

There is an extensive wine selection to compliment the menu as well as a variety of continental lagers. There is no need to book, just come in and we'll look after you.

The Hole in the Wall boasts a stylish new interior which adds to the traditional charm and character of the building. Features include several cosy areas to relax in. Guests will get great, friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere.
