Classical Superstar, Katherine Jenkins, has announced a trip to the woods next summer when she will be appearing at The National Arboretum, Westonbirt, as part of The Forestry Commission's 2008 Forest Tours.
The concert will be supporting The Forestry Commission's valuable social and environmental programmes.
Katherine will be performing with The National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Anthony Inglis. The booking is the first confirmed date as part of the venue's celebrated summer concert season which has now been running for over a decade. The outdoor concert will culminate in a spectacular firework finale at this most beautiful of locations.
Re-defining the concept of classical crossover, Katherine has achieved global sales of over 3 million. Her debut album, 2004's appropriately titled 'Premiere', was the fastest selling of all time by a Mezzo Soprano, with well over 30,000 copies snapped up in the first week.
She is the only singer in musical history to simultaneously hold the Number 1, 2, 3 and 4 position in the classical album charts, which she achieved with 'Premiere', 'Second Nature', 'Living the Dream' and 'Serenade' in 2007. 'Serenade' also went to Number 5 in the pop charts and has sold over a half a million copies to date. Katherine's new album 'Rejoice' is released this week.
Kellie Lovett, Marketing Manager at Westonbirt said, "We are delighted that Katherine Jenkins will be gracing the stage at Westonbirt. She is sure to be a huge draw to our thousands of loyal fans."
