New Year's Eve Viennese Gala

Viennese GalaBack by popular demand, Colston Hall invites you to celebrate New Year in style with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra's annual New Year's Eve Viennese Gala on Monday 31 December, 7.30 pm.

Bring in the New Year and send 2007 on its way at Colston Hall with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra's stylish and entertaining New Year Viennese Gala. The charming Viennese Conductor Gunther Bauer-Schenk will guide you through an evening featuring an uplifting selection of Viennese dance-hall favourites, an evening oozing with Austrian elegance and charm with the Conductor's personal selection of polkas, marches, gallops and waltzes.

This year's music includes the Click-Clack Polka, the Die Fledermaus Quadrille and the Acceleration Waltz as well as music by Suppé, Lehár and Zellar, not to mention the unmistakable Blue Danube.

The award-winning Irish-born soprano, Ailish Tynan will recite the evening's Gala performance. A member of the Villar Young Artists Programme, Ailish recently made her Royal Opera House debut as Papagena in The Magic Flute.

As well as this season's performances with the BSO Viennese Gala concerts, Ailish Tynan has also collaborated with distinguished accompanists on the concert platform. Her recent recordings include Schubert's Shepherd on the Rock on the Wigmore Hall Live label, Irish Songs by Herbert Hughes and Songs of Judith Weir both on the Signum Classics label.

Featuring style, sophistication and Viennese classics, this is the perfect way to see in the New Year.
