Blaise Castle House Museum open every day in August


Blaise Castle House Museum BristolNew this summer, Blaise Castle House Museum will be open every day in August to visitors.

Inside you can see great social history collections from old children's toys to Victorian toilets and baths. A great free day out for all ages, the domestic equipment collection of days gone by will have many taking trips down memory lane and younger children very grateful for what they have now!

Set in 400 acres of stunning parkland a visit to the museum can be mixed in with a picnic, a walk or plenty of action in the adventure playground. There is also a café located on the Blaise Castle Estate.

September sees the return to normal opening hours; Saturday to Wednesdays, 10am - 5pm (closed Thursday and Fridays).

More free family fun activities:

On Wednesday 15 August come and see butter making at the picturesque thatched dairy behind Blaise Castle House Museum.

Discover a tomb with a view on Monday 13 and Wednesday 15 August at Bristol's City Museum & Art Gallery and discover why the ancient Egyptians thought pictures and hieroglyphs would help them to live forever.

Flutter by the museum on Monday 20 August and Wednesday 22 August to enjoy our butterfly inspired activities. Then study our collection of native and exotic species before you fly home.

Don't forget to visit Small World in Bristol's City Museum & Art Gallery, a fun, bright resource area for children aged 0-5 years old. An area designed specifically where you CAN touch museum artefacts, dress up, read and have lots of fun.

All our activities are free and open to all. Children must be accompanied by an adult/carer at all times.
