Unique Family Facilities at Mercure Holland House Hotel

Guests at Mercure Holland House are in for a treat when they stay at this city centre hotel. Apart from the usual 4 star quality service, the hotel has introduced a children's bedroom and free mountain bike hire to all guests in a bid to become more family and environmentally friendly.

An adjoining bedroom can be transformed into a children's bedroom full of removable wall hangings, soft toys, DVD's and games allowing parents to relax next door while their children play. The room is totally versatile with the option to change the bedroom back into a corporate bedroom in just 20 minutes.

Operations Manager Mark Lindsay said "Many guests that stay with us have children and we wanted to provide a service for families that would enable the parents to relax while the children play. Six families have already used the room and have given us positive feedback".

In addition to the children's bedroom, Mercure Holland House wanted to add it's own carbon footprint by introducing free mountain bikes to all guests. General Manager Edward Kreft came up with the idea to encourage guests to use less polluting means of transportation, supporting Accor Hotel's Environment Charter.

Mark went on to say "The bikes have been a great success since we launched the scheme in July. During the Balloon Festival we ran out because everyone wanted to cycle to the event. We are now looking to add children's bikes and provide more adult bikes for our guests."
