Next secures major retail space at Bristol's Cabot Circus


Next Cabot Circus Shopping BristolLeading high street fashion retailer Next have secured a major retail space in the new Cabot Circus development, which opens in Autumn 2008.


Next will occupy 36,000 sq ft in the central retail area, joining other high profile stores for H&M, Top Shop, Zara and New Look. This and other recent lettings take the Bristol city centre scheme to over 70 per cent let by floor area.

Links of London, Pravins, Lombok, Sony, Body Shop Fossil, Hotel Chocolat and Tampopo have also joined the impressive Bristol line-up which already includes international luxury retailer Harvey Nichols and a 170,000 sq ft department store for House of Fraser, creating one of the strongest retail offers outside London.

Keith Stone, Bristol Alliance Leasing Director, commented: "With just over a year until opening, the leasing programme is building real momentum and we are delighted with the commitment that the development has attracted from retailers.

The Bristol Alliance held the Cabot Circus 'topping out' ceremony on 5 July to celebrate the completion of the 14-storey residential tower, with over 100 guests attending a luncheon hosted by chief executives from Hammerson, Land Securities, Sir Robert McAlpine and the leader of Bristol City Council, Cllr Helen Holland.

One of the highest profile mixed-use developments in the UK, Cabot Circus will provide over one million sq ft of high quality retail and leisure uses, as well as apartments, offices and public spaces in the heart of the city.
