Bristol Zoo Gardens is offering half price entry for senior citizens next month.
Visitors over the age of 60 will be able to meet more than 450 species of animals, from tiny insects and fish, to penguins, flamingos and gorillas, as well as enjoying Bristol Zoo's award-winning gardens.
Simply print out a discount voucher from Bristol Zoo Gardens' website at www.bristolzoo.org.uk and take it along to the Zoo during May.
The Zoo's 12-acre grounds are blooming with springtime colour and all walkways are easily accessible and wheelchair friendly. The landscaped gardens are always popular with visitors and there are plenty of benches for visitors to sit and relax surrounded by trees, plants, colourful bedding and borders. On a sunny spring day the well-kept lawns are ideal for a picnic.
Eddie Mole, curator of horticulture at Bristol Zoo Gardens, said: "We are immensly proud of our gardens and May is an excellent time to see a vast array of plants in full bloom."
Visitors can also take in a host of plant-themed events which run from May 14 until Plant Conservation Day on Sunday May 18. Events include an exhibit on really useful plants, talks on the medicinal value of plants by Natasha Devere from the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, and a rare orchid display by Chelsea gold medal winners Writhlington School near Radstock. Visit Bristol Zoo's website for further details.
To qualify for the May half price offer simply log on to the Zoo's website at www.bristolzoo.org.uk and print off a copy of the 'Senior Citizens Spring Time Saver - Half Price Voucher', complete it and present it at the main gate on arrival. Alternatively contact the Zoo by telephone on 0117 974 7300.
