Berkeley Castle on BBC2’s 'Castle in the Country'

Berkeley CastleBerkeley Castle will be the focus of the second half of BBC 2's "Castle in the Country" towards the end of July, being shown at 2.30pm on weekdays. Filming for the series took place in 2007 with presenters John Craven and Gloria Hunniford exploring the historic Gloucestershire Estate and surrounding Vale.

Tim Davies, Marketing Manager for Berkeley Castle said "We look forward to seeing the finished product on the small screen and hope that this will provide a significant boost to our visitor numbers. This will increase awareness of Berkeley Castle, which has featured so much in English history, and the County of Gloucestershire too."

July is a very busy month for Berkeley Castle, now open 7 days a week for the summer, with an art exhibition taking place within the public rooms on 19th - 23rd July by artist Mila Judge-Fürstová and the new Mediaeval event "The Berkeley Skirmish" featuring living history, jousting, battles and more on the weekend of the 26/27th July.
