The Oakwood is a fabulous 30 cover restaurant at The Park. The stone built Jacobean house has an amazing old Masonic lodge at the south end of the building with its own private entrance.
The extraordinary interior with 20ft ceilings has the original stone Masonic carvings and symbols such as ‘Waste not want not’, ‘A place for everything and everything in its place’ and fittingly ‘Cleanliness is next to godliness’ inscribed above the open plan kitchen! At the rear of the main room is a little private dining room that seats up to 8 people and was the original wine cellar and game store.
The kitchen is open plan with a hand made pewter counter and mahogany front, an original restored 1950’s Molteni oven and a Woodstone Oven imported from America. The signature dishes on the menu include a stunning crudité and herb roasted fish in the open oven.
Executive Head Chef Mark Treasure was also previously at Langans, The Capital and Mirabelle in London and several fine country house hotels. He has twice been awarded a Michelin Star in his own right.
Awards won:
2 AA Rosettes
