Destination Bristol has announced the launch of the second edition of BRS Magazine. The publication which takes its name from the city's airport code, provides a comprehensive business and lifestyle guide that promotes Bristol as a hotspot for business and investment.
Following enthusiastic feedback from the 2007 publication, BRS 2008-2009 will explore Bristol's thriving business culture and burgeoning economy, highlighting key growth sectors and opportunities for investment in commercial and residential property plus ambitions for the future. The guide includes a preview of Cabot Circus and the expansion of Bristol's central shopping area, an exploration of the city's growing art scene, increased opportunities for wining and dining and the arrival of Bristol's first major passenger-carrying cruise ship.
BRS also explores the city's successes with reflection on the Harbourside development, television and film, teaching facilities at the University of Bristol, the growth of Bristol International Airport, the diversity of the city's corporate venues and facilities and its rising status as a 'green' and Fair Trade capital.
The guide also acts as a useful tool for organisations looking to move to the area and includes information on where to buy or rent commercial property within Bristol, an overview of the residential property market and breaking news on key growth sectors within Bristol's booming business economy.
The BRS magazine is supported by both, Councillor Helen Holland, Leader of Bristol City Council and John Savage CBE, Chief Executive GWE Business West who welcome the latest edition.
Councillor Helen Holland, Leader of Bristol City Council, said: "During the last decade, Bristol has emerged as one of the most talked-about cities in the UK, thanks to a multi-billion pound investment programme. It is therefore with pleasure that the second edition of BRS Magazine is released. The magazine follows enthusiastic feedback from business visitors, investors and developers, and those relocating to Bristol who wanted to know why our city is fast becoming one of the country's leading cultural, business and investment hotspots."
John Savage CBE, Chief Executive for GWE Business West, said: "BRS Magazine celebrates Bristol's thriving business and cultural scene and aims to tell you a little more about what has happened to Bristol in recent years and, more importantly, it's ambitions for the future and why Bristol has become the city of choice for business."
The magazine will be available free of charge in hotel bedrooms throughout Bristol and South Gloucestershire and will be distributed via local enterprises and at trade events promoting Bristol as a business destination. It will also be issued in response to all corporate relocation enquiries and included in information packs sent out to those who express interest in the city.
