THIS WINTER... VISIT BRISTOL!
Bristol is a wonderful city to visit during the festive season. It may be cold outside, but there's a warm welcome awaiting. Enjoy a short break, shopping or soak up the atmosphere as the city sparkles with light and colour. In fact, there is so much happening in Bristol this winter that a special winter website has been created to showcase the many activities and events taking place.
Destination Bristol, the tourism partnership for Bristol and South Gloucestershire has developed a winter website as a 'one stop shop' with details of every Christmas activity and winter event imaginable. The site is live and accessible from www.visitbristol.co.uk and designed as a resource for both residents and tourists alike. Vicky Weir, Marketing Manager for Destination Bristol said, "Visitors to the site will find everything they need to know about winter in Bristol, from pantomimes and Christmas shopping to Christmas party venues and where to find Santa! Christmas is busy in Bristol - the winter Website is designed to raise the profile of the city and bring benefits to our members and local traders by promoting Bristol as an excellent winter destination."
Special features of the website include; Christmas shopping incorporating Christmas store opening hours, great gift ideas and places to shop. The what's on section provides details of events ranging from ice skating to Christmas markets and eating and drinking venues. Vicky Weir added, "If like me you are seeking novel ideas for New Years Eve then www.visitbristol.co.uk could have the answer! Whether you're looking for a festive package or visiting family and friends, Bristol provides a perfect all year round short break destination and there are hotels, guest houses and apartments waiting to welcome you." Special breaks featured on the Winter website include a family package at the Thistle Bristol Hotel from just £79. The site also provides details of local church and Christmas carol services as well as practical information such as the Christmas Park & Ride scheme.
