This week, Destination Bristol will re-launch the 'Welcome to Excellence' course for taxi drivers in the city. The first event will be held on 27th March 2008 at Princess House in Bedminster. Welcome to Excellence is the leading training programme in the UK in customer service.
A selection of taxi drivers and industry representatives will be participating and on completion will be presented with their certificates. The newly accredited drivers will also receive specially designed 'Concierge' information packs and city maps to keep in their cabs, allowing them to continually assist visitors to the City and helping with their questions.
Drivers completing this and any future training will be easily identified by a 'Welcome to Excellence' accreditation displayed on their cars.
Destination Bristol first launched the Welcome Host Taxi driver training in 1999 and were rewarded by the industry with an 'England for Excellence Award'.
John Hallett, Managing Director of Destination Bristol said: "We have been overwhelmed by the interest and support for this initiative and this will be the first of many training courses taking place this year."
