Together since 1976, Sierra Maestra, a nine-piece dance band, are the leading exponents of Afro-Cuban ‘son’ (the correct term for what’s often called “salsa”). The first group of the modern era, and the best, to take up the old-style line-up of tres, trumpet, guitar, bongo, guiro and vocals, they’ve also added an electric bass and extra Latin percussion to funk it up. Outstanding, electrifying, non-stop dance-inducing this is the real deal.

From the M5: J17 take the A4018 then follow brown elephant signs. From Bristol City Centre: follow the brown elephant signs and/or signs to Clifton. From South Wales, use the second Severn crossing (M4), take the M49 then the M5, J18 (A4).

Great value bus travel and Zoo entry with a Zoo Safari ticket on any First bus in Bristol. By train
