Bristol Cathedral Tours
Guided tours around the inside of the beautiful cathedral, looking at the architecture, history and contents. Tours are held most Saturdays from May to October. Special conducted tours can also be booked. Tours take approximately 1and a half hours and should be booked on 0117 946 8172.
The Brunel Tour
For the first time since its recent restoration public access has been granted to the Old Bristol Station.
Led by an expert guide, highlights include the Passenger Shed, cavernous underground vaults and the mock-Gothic grandeur of the Great Western Railway Boardroom. As well as demonstrating the immense achievement of the brilliant Victorian engineer the tour also offers a unique social history of a railway station at the beginning of the railway revolution. It is also the site of numerous claims of ghostly sightings of Brunel himself!
Four tours are run each month (both week and weekend dates are available). Please contact the Museum for dates and availability. Pre-booking is essential.
Doors Open Day every September
For one day only you can see inside some of Bristol's most fascinating architecturally and historically important buildings, many of which are not normally open to the general public.
For a few buildings you will need to pre-book to go around. Others offer tours with no pre-booking. The event is free.
