Unquestionably one of the finest string quartets in the world, the Takacs Quartet is renowned for its vivid musicianship, style and flair for playing music that is poised on the cusp of classicism and romanticism - and what better way to celebrate this than with a programme of Brahms’ string quartets. Famed for its award-winning Decca recordings of the Beethoven string quartets, lauded as the finest to have appeared for many years, this programme pushes the boundaries of romanticism even further, enabling you to experience the deep passions contained within Brahms’ music alongside the clear-cut, crisp classicism of Haydn.
