Here, a fascinating past combines beautifully with an exciting future. Work has now begun on Bristol's £500 million city centre regeneration programme, Cabot Circus. The project involves the creation of a new city quarter at the entrance to Bristol, offering retail and leisure space. Cabot Circus will offer a four-storey House of Fraser store plus a further 15 major stores and more than 100 additional shops set in three new streets. There will also be a 13 screen "Cinema de Lux" offering 3,000 seats. This expansion will elevate Bristol into one of the UK's top 10 retail destinations and is on schedule to open in September 2008. Broadmead is open seven days a week, 363 days a year. General opening hours are: Monday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday 09.00-18.00. Thursday 09.00-20.00. Sunday 11.00-17.00 - please note some individual stores may vary.

From South West: take the M5 north as far as junction 19. Follow A369 into Bristol and then follow signs for Broadmead.

Broadmead is well served by bus routes from all areas with 1,000 buses coming into Broadmead every day. Bus stops are located in the heart of Broadmead, and a link now runs from Temple Meads railway station into Broadmead approximately every 10 minutes.
