Ethical Expo

Consumers in the UK are starting to think beyond finding the cheapest or the easiest solution and asking more difficult questions about the things they consume. Where was this made? Who made it? What was the process? They want to use their power as consumers to effect dramatic change – to help reduce poverty in the developing world through fair trade, or to challenge climate change by buying green.

The consumer show takes place on May 9 – 10, coinciding with World Fair Trade Day (May 10), with around 60 exhibitors, a local food market and more than 10,000 visitors expected over the two days. Entry is free, and there will be a programme of seminars, workshops and key speakers designed to educate, inform and enthuse. The show will have three distinct zones covering food and drink, clothing and textiles and the home, with 30 percent of organisers’ profits donated to ethical causes in the UK and around the globe.

Road Directions

Leave the M4 Junction 19, taking the M32 to the city centre and Temple Meads rail station. Take junction 19 for Bristol city centre if travelling north on the M5 or junction 18 if travelling south. Limited pay and display parking is available at the rear of the Museum.
