Bristol Acoustic Music Festival

Babel & The Cedar

Following two days of fine music at the Folk House, the 5th Annual Bristol Music Festival transfers to St George's for its celebratory final day.

Highlighting the breadth and diversity of the Bristol music scene, the Festival packs its programme with a phenomenal range of the very finest acoustic talent: the unabashedly animated People of Note Choir; the beautifully intimate chanteuse Sarah Carr; Mercado Mestizo's lyrical Latin-jazz; the spellbinding jazz-soul vocalist, Phil King; and the bittersweet blues, powerfully delivered, of Roger Tarry and Caroline Martin.

Fortune Drive Acoustic lend their lethally potent cocktail of vintage rock and tender soul to a passionate soundtrack to hedonistic Saturday nights; The Cedar bring a veritable Womad of instruments to their epic blend of warm, weird, melodic folk; The Wraiths immerse the classic poems of Wilde, Hardy and Tennyson in an edgy, haunting acoustic sound world; Jane Taylor transfixes with the intangible magic of her voice and razor sharp lyrical bite; and the unclassifiable Babel weave mesmerizing storytelling and raw intensity into triumphant free-range folk.

The full programme of the first and second days of the Festival (16-17 January) can be found at bristolfolkhouse.co.uk.
