Bristol Harbour Festival
The Harbour Festival is Bristol’s largest, liveliest and most diverse free event, and one of the biggest events of its kind in the country.
With the introduction of some new spaces around the harbour this year, the festival now stretches along two miles of Bristol’s beautiful city centre harbour.
In a weekend jam-packed with music, dance, circus, ships and boats, markets, children’s entertainment and fireworks, some of the new highlights this year include:
Castle Park becomes part of the festival site for the first time, with a family focussed area that will include the hugely popular circus stage and the Children’s Area.
The Amphitheatre will be transformed into a The Bristol Village Fayre, featuring a community garden, a West Country food market & bar, a bicycle funfair and a solar and bicycle powered stage.
On King Street, Bristol Old Vic’s Young Company take to the street as 100 of the Young Company perform specially commissioned shows for the festival on the historic cobbled street.
The Dance Village extends into Millennium Square with a bigger stage that will be graced with some top international dancers alongside the best of the local dance scene.
The festival kicks off with the Friday night concert in Queen Square, with markets on the Waterfront and Queen Square, and continues throughout the weekend - with the legendary Saturday night fireworks a real highlight.
