Festival of the TreeThe Festival of the Tree is one of the largest events to take place at Westonbirt Arboretum and will run this year from 18 - 25 August 2008. This exciting event will celebrate the wonders of Mother Nature and include unique activities such as family trails around the wood, wood craft workshops and the much-anticipated chainsaw wood carvings, which will be sold at the end of the festival and all money raised donated to TreeAid. Ticket prices vary and dogs are allowed throughout the entire event.
Bristol Kite FestivalPeople in Bristol will once again be looking to the skies as the Bristol International Festival of Kites and Air Creations returns to Ashton Court Estate from 30 - 31 August. This year promises even more aerial displays and incredible flying shapes than ever before, and visitors from across the globe are expected to attend this famous festival. Expect to see some familiar faces on Sunday as celebrity presenters from the popular children's TV show Blue Peter will turn up to have a go themselves. Admission to the event is free.
Cabot CircusThe wait is almost over! Cabot Circus developers have announced that the much-anticipated shopping development in Bristol's city centre will be unveiled and opened to the public on Thursday 25th September 2008. The state-of-the-art complex will feature huge names in retail, with 15 major stores along with over 100 new shops, and a wide choice of restaurants, cafes and bars. A 13-screen 'Cinema de Lux' will be included as well as a new customer car park with over 2,600 spaces for shoppers. Make sure you put this date in your diary and don't miss the opening celebrations.
