Whether you prefer musicals, ballet, opera, concerts, comedians or children’s shows, the Hippodrome’s busy programme is bound to have something to suit every taste.

The autumn season at the Hippodrome is packed full of shows and promises to ‘Rock’. The incredible West End smash hit We Will Rock You arrives at the theatre in September and October. The cast includes ex-Coronation Street star Kevin Kennedy, Jonathan Wilkes, X Factor finalist Brenda Edwards, actress Georgina Hagen, most recently seen in ITV’s Britannia High, and I’d Do Anything reality show contestant Ashley Russell.

Finishing the year there is the magical pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs coming along in December and January – to make this pantomime even more spectacular we have Kara Tointon (Eastenders) as Snow White and Joe Swash (Eastenders, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here) as the Prince.

In between these two fantastic shows there are visits from Welsh National Opera and English National Ballet for the opera and ballet lovers, we also have local group BLOC with there rendition of Oklahoma. We have a visit from Bill Kenwrights Cabaret starring Wayne Sleep and another visit from the Chuckle Brothers to keep the children happy. The dance phenomenon Lord Of The Dance returns with more than 150,000 taps per performance. The theatre is very lucky to also be host to a number of comedians, including Bill Bailey, Al Murray, Lee Mack and the hilarious Michael McIntyre. Some of these shows are currently sold out but please check with the Box Office on the day of performance for any released tickets.

2010 starts with the award winning Chitty Chitty Bang Bang followed by the Russian State Ballet of Siberia. Following on from the successful tour of High School Musical, Disney’s High School Musical 2 makes a visit in February.

Please see the website www.bristolhippodrome.org.uk for further details on all the services on offer and for full listings.
