Troopers Hill Nature Reserve

Troopers Hill is a local nature reserve, owned by Bristol Parks. It is on a hillside overlooking the River Avon that has been quarried and mined in the past. The hill contains a fascinating mix of history, wild plants and animals. With heather and broom, rocky crags, spoil heaps and gullies,stunning views and two listed chimneys, Troopers Hill is one of the most spectacular wildlife spots in the city and hold the prestigous Green Flag award for 2007/08, one of only two in Bristol.

Road Directions

Troopers Hill is in St. George, east Bristol, between the A431 Air Balloon Road and Crews Hole Road. These roads are linked by Troopers Hill Road, from which there are four pedestrian entrances to the site. The lowest is close to the junction with Crews Hole Road and gives easy access to or from the river Avon Trail. The nearest entrance to Air Balloon Road is at the corner of Greendown.
