University of Bristol Botanic Gardens

The University Botanic Garden cultivates some 4,500 plant species from over 200 plant families within its five acre site. This diversity of plants is unique and not found elsewhere in the Bristol area. Special collections include: rare native and threatened plants of the South West, Chinese Medicinal Herb Garden, South African and New Zealand collections, plus many plants cultivated under glass.

Summer 2008 opening times: 10am - 4.30pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Admission is £3.50 Children 5 - 16 £1 (children under 5 free.) Entrance to the Garden is free to members of the Friends of the Botanic Garden Association during opening hours

Road Directions

If travelling by car from the city centre proceed across the Downs towards Stoke Bishop. Cross the traffic lights at the edge of Durdham Down. Stoke Park Road is the first turning on the right off Stoke Hill. The entrance to the Botanic Garden is opposite Churchill Hall, Stoke Bishop.
