Home / Venn Festival
Taking in over 50 local and international acts of the highest calibre, this year's Venn line-up is the broadest and strongest yet. Plus, a range of carefully chosen artists perform two-set specials, art interventions, Venn TV and more.
The Venn Festival was born in 2003, out of a dual impetus: an overbearing urge to enliven the straightjacket music presentation format, and a desire to give Bristol, UK a landmark music festival that was one of the most exciting of its kind in the world.
Venn imagines a festival of music, sound and art that, by resisting obvious programming and modes of production wherever possible, triggers a wide set of emotions and thoughts. An inexpensive festival of musical overlap for as many fellow explorers that can be persuaded to come.
Occupying a collection of venues, buildings and outposts scattered around Bristol, UK, Venn is operated by a collection of disparate music obsessives who bring to Venn their own entertaining sensibilities and probing spirit.
Venn 08's many musical colours include nervous pop, bicycle noise, industrial jungle, world-wise folk and neon-lit house - yet through the Venn kaleidoscope no sound stays still: everything can be something else.
