Discovery Channel International Balloon Fiesta

The Discovery Channel International Balloon Fiesta, one of the largest outdoor events in the country, attracts thousands of visitors each year for a four-day festival of fun and flying - and it's all FREE!

In 2008, the Balloon Fiesta takes place at Ashton Court Estate, Bristol from the 7-10 August 2008.

Don't miss the spectacular Night Glows, which take place on Thursday and Saturday evenings at 21.30, where tethered balloons light up to music. On Thursday night the glow is followed by an awe-inspiring fireworks finale.

Special Shapes Rodeo
A mass ascent of comical and bizarrely shaped balloons, filling the skies above Bristol with colour and intrigue takes place on Thursday at 6pm.

Mass Balloon Launches
Don't forget your camera for the mass balloon launches at 6pm on Thursday, and at 6am and 6pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday when over 100 balloons launch across Bristol.

Tethered Balloons
You'll be able to see tethered balloons at various times every day throughout the event.

All balloon activities are weather-permitting.

Arena Entertainments
The action-packed programme of arena entertainment runs from 2-5pm on Thursday and 11am-5pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Heaven
Heaven is a relaxed interactive zone with seating and a separate small stage for music and entertainment away from the hustle and bustle of the main arena. The atmosphere is described as a 'festival within a festival', offering an oasis of calm and tranquility that will also stretch the imagination and entertain throughout the day.
