On the doorstep to the vibrant cultural cities of Bath and Bristol, right on the edge of the Cotswolds, Nailey Farm combines the best of both worlds.
Tucked away from the hubbub, yet conveniently situated for easy access to Bath (approximately 15 minutes’ drive), Bristol (approximately 25 minutes’ drive), and the M4 motorway (approximately 10 minutes’ drive), St Catherine’s valley is a very special, unspoilt ‘secret’ valley north of Bath. Nailey, a 200-acre working farm is situated within this area of outstanding natural beauty, it boasts tranquillity and stunning panoramic views of enchanting countryside, and is a haven for many species of wildlife. Cattle, sheep, horses and ponies graze in the fields. Ducks and chickens roam freely, as do our two children, and their grandparents. We also have two friendly working sheepdogs, and a charming Jack Russell terrier.

Named after woods in the valley, Trulls, Dicknick and Longley have been converted from a redundant farm building, originally built as a cattle byre but latterly used for stabling and storage. The building has been superbly renovated to provide three holiday cottages and shared laundry room.

Aiming to emulate the natural beauty of the idyllic location, the cottages have a clean, fresh, contemporary style, that embraces modern living, carefully mixed with a traditional and slightly rustic edge to complement the farm and country aspect, paying particular attention to design, space and comfort.

The cottage interiors exploit natural light and their beautiful surrounding views. They are spacious and airy, yet warm and cosy. Natural materials in abundance; cherry wood kitchens; English oak floors; bespoke local craftsmen made furniture; dark blue/ black slate tiles clad the walk-in shower room and en-suite bathrooms, all complemented by white porcelain and chrome detail.

Each cottage has a sunny south-facing terrace and access to the shared garden. Trulls cottage benefits from a decked verandah, ideal for watching the sunset and admiring the view. Barbeques and garden furniture are available for alfresco mealtimes. The courtyard to the rear of the cottages provides ample parking space.

Public footpaths and bridleways cross the farm; The Limestone Link passes through our farmland connecting Bath to the Cotswold Way at nearby Cold Ashton providing wonderful walks and magical exploration.

Approximately 2 miles away is the thriving ancient market town of Marshfield, offering excellent shops and services. With three historic pubs there is food, wine and ale to suit every taste.

Pure cotton percale bed linen (beds made ready to fall into); fluffy Egyptian cotton towels (one of both hand and bath sheet per person); one basket of logs for the wood-burning stove, electricity, oil-fired central heating and hot water, a choice of ‘Welcome’ hamper and VAT are all included in the cost of your holiday , together with an abundance of simple personal touches to help make your stay as easy and pleasurable as possible. There is a pay as you go mobile available to make any necessary calls whilst on your holiday. Two of our cottages are interconnectable and can sleep up to 12 people, if you are coming as a group. Cots (including bedding), and high chairs can be booked in advance. Smoking is only permitted outside the cottages and, sorry, we cannot allow pets.
