About
St George’s Park is a large Victorian suburban park with a pond, grass areas, large wheels park and a children’s playground. The playground has a large bespoke lizard head structure with tunnel slides and timber climbing ‘ribs’, swings, a seesaw and a toddler sand pit with mini slide.
The complete playground is surrounded by a fence and is a dog-free zone. Additionally a wheels park is located at the western end of the park to go skateboarding, rollerblading or riding a BMX bike. The pond has swans, ducks and sometimes ducklings which children will enjoy too. Other facilities are available are toilets at the entrance, seating and there is a full time attendant at the park. The park is largely accessible by wheelchair, although some areas are not.
There is some parking on nearby Chalks Road, St. George. A bus ride from the city centre will take around 20 minutes, by car just 15 minutes or a walk will take you there in 45 minutes.
St. Georges Park is open at all times and is free to enter.
