Over its thousand year history, the Royalist has seen many alterations, but still retains many of its original features, as well as a traditional British pub, the "Eagle and Child", which looks out over bustling Digbeth Street in atmospheric Stow-on-the-Wold.

All the bedrooms are ensuite and well appointed, and some have features dating back many hundreds of years.

Blending contemporary design with ancient timbers and medieval fire places, the Royalist's award-winning restaurant, the 947AD, is at the heart of the hotel's justly deserved reputation for offering the finest in food, wine and service. The Royalist hotel is well located at the centre of the Toy Collectors Museum, StowCotswolds, ideal for the stunning villages of Evesham, Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water (known as "Little Venice"), and Stow itself has a fantastic array of antique, craft and other speciality shops. For 2008, the Royalist is offering a "guaranteed dollar rate" for its accommodation, based on approximately $1.95 to £1, which makes it even better value!
