On the trail of King Arthur

Stay either at luxury Charlton House (Option 1) in Shepton Mallet, at the 3* Swan Hotel (Option 2) in the center of Wells, or at the eccentric country house Miller's at Glencot House (Option 2) at Wookey Hole near Wells .

Option 1


Each itinerary is colour coded on the map.

Longleat HouseDay 1 - red route
Visit Lord Bath's house at Longleat today and Stourhead Gardens.

Day 2 - blue route
Head over to Wells, England's smallest city with its magnificent cathedral dominating the town. Continue to Glastonbury and visit Glastonbury Abbeythe Abbey where the legendary King Arthur is reputed to be buried alongside his queen Guinevere.

Day 3 - pink route
Head up to Bath today and spend the day visiting the sites and shops. Perhaps return via Bradford on Avon and the Bridge Tea Rooms.

Day 4 - green route
Head to South Somerset today, to visit Montacute House and Garden, and Sherborne.

Head into Bristol today via the Cheddar Gorge. Visit the SS Great Britain, John Wesley's Chapel, the harbour area, and Clifton village.

 

 



Option 2

Each itinerary is colour coded on the map.

Wells CathedralDay 1
Visit Wells today including the cathedral and Bishop's Palace. You could also pay a visit to the caves and Wookey Hole, a little village just outside Wells.

Day 2 - blue route
Head down to Glastonbury today to visit the Abbey where the legendary King Arthur is reputed to be buried alongside his queen Guinevere. Continue on to Exmoor for views of the Somerset coast and a visit to Dunster with it's imposing castle

Day 3Roman Baths with Abbey - pink route
Head up to Bath today and spend the day visiting the sites and shops. Perhaps return via Bradford on Avon and the Bridge Tea Rooms.

Day 4 - green route
Head over to Longleat house today and then down to visit Stourhead Gardens.

Day 5 - orange route
Head into Bristol today via the Cheddar Gorge. Visit the SS Great Britain, John Wesley's Chapel, the harbour area, and Clifton village.
