Weymouth's fine Georgian seafront is an impressive backdrop to the long arc of fine, golden sand. The beach and esplanade, historic harbour, marina and nature reserve encircle the rejuvenated town centre combining the traditional and modern to create a very special place to visit - at any time of year. From lazing on the beach or sitting along the Seafront the views are inspirational with the panoramic bay and World Heritage Dorset coastline extending as far as the eye can see
The sands and safe water of Weymouth Beach and bay are some of the finest in Great Britain. Throughout the year the beach hosts several major events including the International Beach Kite Festival, Fireworks, Tag Rugby, Handball, Volleyball, Motocross etc.
In 2012 sailing events for the London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games will be held in Weymouth and nearby Portland.
The resort is easy to get around on foot and all the attractions are within walking distance of the town centre. Many attractions are located around the harbourside and there's plenty to interest the whole family.
The Deep Sea Adventure features the world's foremost Titanic Exhibition whilst Sharky's is an all action children's play zone.
Just off the harbourside in Hope Square, the impressive Victorian brewery buildings have been redeveloped into an award winning family attraction. Brewers Quay is a labyrinth of courtyards and cobbled alleys and around every corner you will discover arts, crafts and specialist shops.
The Timewalk attraction inspired by Weymouth's turbulent past; Brewery Days which explores Weymouths brewing heritage; Discovery with a wide range of stimulating experiences plus Weymouth Museum are all worth a visit.
The Nothe Gardens and Fort are also close by and the Nothe Fort is yet another top family attraction. The many displays, the maze of tunnels, the great guns, plus fantastic views from the ramparts provide a memorable visit.
