Stinsford

StinsfordStinsford church is the place where Thomas Hardy was baptized, taught Sunday school in his youth, and to which his heart later returned to be buried on 16 January, 1928. Simultaneously his ashes were interred in Poets' Corner, Westminster Abbey, London.
The church is a place he dearly loved throughout his life. Both his father and grandfather were ardent musicians in the church choir, thus the Hardys of Higher Bockhampton enjoyed a long history at Stinsford.
