Bristol’s summer event calendar is heating up with two immersive experiences perfect for explorers of all ages.

First up is Space Shanty at M Shed for 6 weeks, an intergalactic voyage like no other, exploring Bristol's involvement with science and space travel. Then there’s Lumosphere at Cabot Circus for 3 weeks only, which brings together the best of art, technology and interactive fun in the city centre.

With the weather being quite unpredictable lately, these two additions to Bristol’s summer scene make exciting ideas for entertaining little ones indoors during the school break.

Here’s everything you need to know about these two brand new experiences...

Space Shanty at M Shed | 19 July – 1 September

Located in the heart of Bristol’s harbourside, this pop-up experience blends history, science, and playful exploration to create a unique and engaging experience for young explorers. Delve into the stories and artefacts of Bristol’s contributions to space exploration, all through hands-on activities and exploratory play.

Bemmie, Bristol’s first spacefaring rat, will take you on a 45-minute immersive experience through time and space. Taking the humble child’s cardboard space rocket as inspiration for the installation, enter a theatrical maze-like space combined with video, lighting effects and clever digital installations. You will come across escape room-like challenges, a chance to fly a rocket, and space to mix your own unique tunes with the interactive music console.

Adult tickets are priced at £12, children tickets at £8 and under 3’s go free.
