Helen from Visit West reviews Mary Poppins at The Bristol Hippodrome
I am a huge fan of the classic film and was very excited to see the show. I was delighted that it captivated from start to finish managing to retain the charm and classic songs from the movie whilst giving a fresh interpretation of the story.

The stunning set design made watching this show feel like being transported onto the pages of a beautiful pop-up story book. The energy of the show was infectious and the choreography on iconic numbers such as Step In Time had the audience clapping and singing along . The special effects were plentiful and jaw dropping. Without giving spoilers, my daughter and myself are still trying to work out how Bert managed to defy gravity!
The cast were outstanding and each shone in their individual parts. Stepfanie Jones as Mary Poppins was captivating. Jack Chambers as Bert provided energy and charm. Special mention also to Florence Swann (as Jane) and Charlie Donald (as Michael) who were stand out in their parts as the Banks children.
